Did you know that the amount of time between pregnancies might affect your health and the health of your baby?

Too little time between pregnancies may:

  • Cause placental abruption, which is when the placenta pulls away from the wall of your uterus.
  • Lead to placenta previa, which is when the placenta covers part or all of the opening in the cervix.
  • Cause the baby to have low birth weight or be born early.
  • Be too hard physically for the mom.

Make sure you think about the risks of having babies too close together before having another baby soon.  It’s best to wait at least 18 months before getting pregnant again.
