It’s uncomfortable to feel thirsty! If your thirst is bothering you but you can’t have a drink because you are worried about your fluid levels, here are some tricks you can try:

  • Suck on ice instead. It’s still water, of course, but it lasts longer and often is more satisfying!

  • Suck on hard candy or chew gum.

  • Eat low potassium fruit that is frozen or very cold. (For instance, frozen grapes, cherries and strawberries are delicious!) They’ll last longer if you suck on them.

  • Rinse your mouth with water or mouthwash (just don’t swallow!).
