Walking is one of the easiest and safest ways to be active. If you are going to walk, make sure you are wearing comfy shoes and socks. Check your feet before and after walking for bruises, sores, or any other problems. Here are some ways to add walking to your daily activities:
Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
Instead of taking a coffee break, take a walking break.
Walk back and forth when you are on the phone.
Park your car a few blocks away from where you are going and walk.
Park farther away in the parking lot when you are out.
Get off the bus or train before your usual stop and walk.
If you have to wait more than ten minutes somewhere, walk around.
